We Have Your Back Team: Shop Spotlight of the Week ( Part 1 )

When asked what advice I would give to other Etsy shop owners in my answer I usually say "be an active team member." Etsy teams are a great way to network with other shop owners and help your shop gain exposure. I belong to a number of teams and made my own team as well. I find that in teams you get help and also make great friends.

I have currently joined a team called "We Have Your Back" where all team members participate in helping one another. This team is full of very active team members, and let me tell you, they really do have your back for everything!

Meet the team Captain and Leaders:
Dana Brady (Captain): Visit her shop ButtonTopSugarShop

Earl R. Branham (Leader): Visit his shop ThoreauFair

Jessi (Leader): Visit PJsCraftingCorner

(I will be featuring each shop and their story in future posts)

In the team there is a discussion thread called Shop Spotlight where a shop will be chosen and featured for an entire week!! During this entire week team members help the featured shop get noticed by posting links on various social media sites, liking items, making treasuries; anything to help the shop gain exposure.

For the week of 4/18 - 4/25 I had the honor of being chosen to be shop spotlight of the week! I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to being able to feature many shops on my blog for upcoming Shop Spotlights.

Whether you have Etsy or not please stop by and check out our We Have Your Back team and support our team members by visiting the teams different links:

Technology vs. Good Old Fashioned Paper and Pen: What's your pick?

With technology everywhere you look and for everything you do, what is your pick?
Do you give in to technology for everything or do you still prefer to use good old fashioned paper and pen?

I'm just curious to see what everyone else prefers.

The reason why I came up with this is because I honestly prefer good old fashioned paper and pen for a lot of tasks. I have a Samsung Galaxy SII and this phone does everything, you name it and it does it. The camera on it is amazing, so I really can't complain, but no matter how much I try to use the calendar to remind me of things to do, appointments, to send out newsletters etc, I just cannot keep up with it, I prefer an actual planner where I can write things. Same goes for shopping lists. I would much rather hold a paper list in my hand while grocery shopping or shopping for supplies. It just feels weird holding my phone in my hand.

Don't get me wrong I love my phone, I use it A LOT, I keep up with social media sites and try to respond e-mails from there as much as possible. I monitor my Etsy shop, but sometimes good ol' fashioned paper and pen is all I can really use in order to be productive.

Believe it or not with a little less than $6.00 I am able to be more productive. My weekly planner cost only $1.00 at the dollar store, the yellow pad comes in a pack of 5 for $1.00 also at the dollar store, the brown pad I bought at Michaels it comes in a pack of 2 for either $1.00 or $2.00 and the pens were just laying around, but I just bought a pack on Amazon for approximately $2.25 for 12 pens.

So even if you cannot afford a smartphone and/or are on a tight budget you can be productive with these items.

What about you, what do you prefer? How do you find yourself to be more productive?

A Spring Day in My Life

With spring here, the weather warming up (a lot), flowers blooming everywhere. What do you wear on one of the first hot days? It's been so cold, when the weather reaches 80 degrees you can't help, but to think that mother nature is playing some sort of trick on you right? Well, this past Tuesday, the weather reached well into the upper 70's to 80 degree mark. I was visiting my mother in the city and realized how sunny it was. I decided on taking my son to the park that day, but I had no clue on what to wear!

I went through a few different outfits before settling on this simple outfit. All the accessories are a part of my Jenvy Accessories line, some which are yet to be made public on any of my sites, so you are the first to see them.

Outfit Components:
3 Stretch Bracelets in Sky Blue, White and Lime (3 for $5)
2 Memory Wire Bracelets, one in Pearlesque and one in Blue Carnival ($5.00 each)
1 pair of Fabric Covered Button Earrings ($4.00/pair)
1 Spike/Pearl (short) Necklace
**All accessories are Jenvy Accessories**
Top is a strapless top from Hollister ($15.00 on sale last year)
Pants are Abercrombie (not sure how much since these were given to me by my sister)
Moccasins from Payless ($24.99)

__________________________________________________________________________________

Once we were dressed and ready to go we headed to the park and I automatically go into paparazzi mode with my phone, so here are some pictures for you all to enjoy. Here is a Spring Day in My Life as a mother, woman, small business owner just enjoying life!

Meet & Greet Blog Hop!

My blog has had a complete makeover since I first opened it with the intention of featuring my latest accessory designs. It has been some time now and with all the other social sites I use for Jenvy Accessories I kind of sort of abandoned my blog. Mostly because I had no clue how to make it look how I wanted it to, I am still learning how to use it so please be patient with me. :)

After the great help I received from Laurie, I have put some major thought into what I can do with this blog, well, besides just putting up items from my shop and have decided on featuring other artists, shop/small business owners, other bloggers. We'll see what's in store for our new Jenvy Accessories blog.

Finally, I met Laurie the owner of Created by Laurie and she helped me with my blog and has done an amazing job! I cannot thank her enough! This weekend she has introduced me to a Blog Hop in hopes of gaining some new followers and hopefully some new friends as well. So here goes nothing!
